What is Citrus Live?
The Citrus Theatre opened on January 17, 1941 and was a staple of downtown Edinburg entertainment for roughly five decades before falling dormant. After a restoration project of about five years led by local developer Nick Cantu, it reopened as Citrus Live on May 1, 2025. The 11,000-square-foot venue seats just over 1,000, including second-floor suites fitted with more than 200 reupholstered original theater seats. Programming spans live music from indie bands to touring headliners, stand-up comedy, tribute shows, theater, and even professional wrestling and combat sports.
